My studio is a 500 sq. foot stucco building on Main. Street in Rangely, CO, a tiny, isolated town in th
e high desert of Northwestern Colorado. My then fiance and I closed on the derelict 1940′s building on May 28, 2004 and began renovations. The building needed a fair amount of work to turn it into a studio, including a drainage system, repairs to the walls, new windows and doors, and an all over cladding of 5/8
inch drywall. The process of buying an abandoned building on commercial property was interesting and challenging. All renovations required by the town building inspector had to be completed before I could begin using the building to make my work.
